daisy chains connect these memories with you
sometimes they break in autumn and never renew
but where the flowers fall the walking’s so good
leading to a bed of earth, made it what we could
and troubles and overlong days put aside for a while
to let rain wash the air clean, raise a calm smile
we found a place with opaque windows and no sound
a secret of mind where the thoughts might abound
with the cold wind blowing on the outside, we sang inside
living on the contact of eyes and what caresses could provide
then the love that we made found its way to the light
through the passage of days, into the stars of the night
and as each traveller sees the direction so clear
insignificant daisy chains remain ever near
