Haiku November

Thaw

Frost thaws on the lawn
Soil appears at the surface
Darn mole here again

Autumn Evening

Blue sky turns to grey
The evening comes in autumn
Stillness, then a storm

Autumn Reach

See leafless branches
Reaching for the sky in vain
Autumn takes the sun

Draft

Who is that behind
Silent yet is a presence
Draft of autumn air

Fire

Colours turn to grey
Sunshine hours are fleeting
Time to light a fire

November

Angels hang in stores
Twinkling lights on Christmas trees
Must be November

Message

Aching joints and back
Send a message to prepare
Soon there will be snow

Birds

Where is the singing
Why is there night in daytime
Birds on a sojourn

Cats

Rolling eyes at door
Yet midnight has still to pass
Cats know autumn too

Sky

Moon and stars so clear
The heavens are painted well
Autumn sky beauty

Red

Red amongst the grass
Thorns defend red in hedges
Apples and berries

Sleep

Why so much darkness
Why blankets of ice and snow
Even trees need sleep
