in platonia

in platonia there is no need to reminisce
here the memories coalesce and all there is, is this
where taking back words and deeds from the dead
cannot be contrition, rather misdirected instead

in platonia there is no need to exist
though imagining dreams is hard to resist
but these motes of dust are facades in sleep
where sunshine in ether was never to keep

in platonia there is no need to explain
because there was once, there is ever refrain
and as the end comes the journey will start
all meaning united, a singular heart

true essence

the petals of this rose are you
an erstwhile angel for the few
recounting as the layers unfold
and moments of your life are told

‘tis sweet, your music in the sun
and with the breeze notes gaily run
sending perfume’s heady wave
to drift amongst and so enslave

yet not the least is colour, you
of heaven, a celestial hue
to lend the season’s joy today
whilst painting memories here to stay

though petals of this rose be real
ne’er could true essence, you, reveal

dream of humanity

the blue faded
and the soothing waters
of our birth
receded
into an endless night

memories of creation
and the passion
for constancy
disappeared
with the iota
whilst the inspiration
for discovery
and truth
enveloped each soul
without retrospect

though the spell of time
had been broken
and spacial kingdoms
vanquished
humanity
remained precedent
beyond even
the supraethereal journey
towards
this singularity

of life

this overwhelming moment
to hold a rose
within a lonely morn
in cold sunshine mist
… a pale blue sky
… such redness
… soft petals
of life

not the rose
nor rising sun
rather being of
unique experience
in warm thought
with freedom
to spend these limits
of life

so turns a day
with little time in mind
yet traverses the sun
through moon
… events and objects
… sensations and sensitivity
the passage in precision
of life

virtually real

such tired times
“listen, the liberty bell chimes.”
to be in awe of coffee drinkers
sitting in mocha chairs
wondering who cares
for the graveyard stinkers

“will you come here again?”
did I ask when
of the tepid skinned freaks
who looked whilst they fell
but fought so well
even came here for weeks

so the landscape changed
as lives were rearranged
and the horrors of war
where one careless touch
destroyed so much
“this screen is what I saw!”

alone

consider
those rainfall days
when arches of prism sunshine
illuminated raindrops
or were they tears
on sad smiles
raised from truth
in understanding

of mindful daybreaks
and eventides
celestial moments
in whose care
we nurtured visions
of the blue
or notions of the black
beyond

given to observe
the spectacle
that was this world
the stars
yet more
when minds did overflow
could we have been
alone

cellular

cellular is the world in this head
(it could have been so expansive instead)
thus, minutiae in worlds minute
conferring time and hence astute
with willingness to search the rule
but quantumness can be so cruel
and so forever to explore
the beautiful, the one, the lore

cellular is the world of this word
(uttered here, yet there, absurd)
will message worthwhile be to speak
transmitting where, with meaning weak
and as the waves are conjured so
magician’s spell does digits throw
into the ether, as discrete
which fateful stranger might they meet

cellular is the world confined
(against the tide or misaligned)
constricted by the thoughts of truth
the ancient wisdom so aloof
insurgence gainst the future shock
of voice unable to unlock
when microcosms in the mind
are freedoms of the only kind

Haiku November

Thaw

Frost thaws on the lawn
Soil appears at the surface
Darn mole here again

Autumn Evening

Blue sky turns to grey
The evening comes in autumn
Stillness, then a storm

Autumn Reach

See leafless branches
Reaching for the sky in vain
Autumn takes the sun

Draft

Who is that behind
Silent yet is a presence
Draft of autumn air

Fire

Colours turn to grey
Sunshine hours are fleeting
Time to light a fire

November

Angels hang in stores
Twinkling lights on Christmas trees
Must be November

Message

Aching joints and back
Send a message to prepare
Soon there will be snow

Birds

Where is the singing
Why is there night in daytime
Birds on a sojourn

Cats

Rolling eyes at door
Yet midnight has still to pass
Cats know autumn too

Sky

Moon and stars so clear
The heavens are painted well
Autumn sky beauty

Red

Red amongst the grass
Thorns defend red in hedges
Apples and berries

Sleep

Why so much darkness
Why blankets of ice and snow
Even trees need sleep

storm and song

in this long night of storm and song
come the frightful words that took so long
to prepare, a beginning, a brand new verse
but to end the last could not be worse

you’ll know these times, the slow goodbyes
the exasperation, amid mindful whys
when pictures fragment with tears, they fall
as though to ignore what it did mean at all

then the burden of those times that were
protracted smiles and peaceful care
a heavy weight this night, alas
for an uneasy debenture still must pass

the thunder plays a reckless game
when arms surround, are they the same
so tenuous, a remembered glance
yet eye to eye could take this chance

and then, the storm gives radiance to
your grace, confirming still tis true
love is illuminated, and song to start
who might imagine should never part

life in fire

this burning sun that brings today
and takes away
the fear and all that dark can do
brings warming depth of truth in you
as light is to a synthesis
providing more than biosis
then here is one dichotomy
not visualized through astronomy
for, emerging whence a mortal spell
surpasses all that words might tell
and as the brightness does unfold
a story of the earth is told
where more than we could see transpire
created every life in fire
