Where From?

A shabby chart was all between
this place and destiny.
Yet we continued
- returning was no option -
toward the featureless horizon,
a glassy sun our only companion by day,
a crescent moon to end the night.

“Where from?” was asked.
No mystery,
not even exclusivity.
Origins in happy times,
superseded by loving ways,
transient in irresistible
voyages.

So, these eyes meet wonder eyes,
across the bow,
fates linked
by adventure
and spirit,
to break a sparkling smile
for humankind.

Portrait Brittany

With songs like that
we could never break up,
portrait Brittany.
But voices fade; rustling
like isolated leaves,
freeze dried in the winter
winds.
And, anyway, this is not quite you,
whose penetrating
eyes, not seeing
me
- not seeing at all.
With eyes like those
we could never break up,
portrait Brittany.
We never made up Brittany.
We never made up.

Hues of Good Fortune

Painting, “You are beautiful,”
in mind
is so easy,
for as truth is to birth
then your face is to love.
Yet oils might blight
this canvas,
this life,
that beckons such a smile
into eyes.
Will you stay
with the pen
in this hand?
Or will the tremors of days
loose the hues
of good fortune
upon this waiting world?

symphony

symphony, who art such mind
elevated whilst consideration cannot find
reason as the flesh and soul unite
defeating even self so erudite

accompaniment doth voice ingratiate
enabling consequence to contemplate
yet, resultant empathy be constrained
since still hindered is this vitality enchained

now seeking thus of purpose and of cause
will discord or in harmony reveal few flaws
while nature did in instrument anomaly expose
the very essence of said mystery depose

but rest all of limitations, reasons have no place
for simple melody of hearts, ‘tis nobility with grace

Realignment

This night
there was a realignment of ..
something.

Maybe it was love,
admitting
in the absence
of light
and in timelessness,
a reality ambience,
a true emptiness,
above
the corporal embrace,
beyond the dreams -
leaving no trace.

There, silk clouds
swathed mountain peaks
with flowing streams
of peace,
or shrouds
where life seeks
its release.

Still there is this night,
so significant,
coalescing the plight
that is Earth
and consciousness,
inevitably incumbent -
perhaps a renaissance, an awareness,
resembling a rebirth
in freedom – as a dove.

freezing whilst the planet fries

we were too busy being globally warmed
planetarily harmed
to make good plans for wintry weather
when the heat just doesn’t bother
yet the roasting might resume
anytime I presume
but in a different way
and on another day

so we sit in front of fire
turn up heating one notch higher
emit carbon to our hearts’ delight
watch tv for the footprint fight
as forecasts for tomorrow
hit no targets, beg or borrow
yet the future could be bleak
but just not quite this week

Writer Of This Life

The elusive writer of this life
Sharpens a fresh quill
For to pierce more deeply
The paper of a finite trail
As chronicle
Whence liquid narrative
Liberates tormented days
Resembling tears
That stain a weary face

And as time
Turns into a prosaic dream
Becomes another immortal
Or so said
Through blood

another short sad day of love

you left your night clothes so close
that you didnt really go
nonetheless the night returned to darkness
and i listened until the motor
dissolved in the distance

just another short sad day of love
when we ate and kissed
away the world
with orange juice and tv
an irretrievable episode

then forever came early
and two transient hearts
that snow and mist appeared to hide
melded with the day’s close
in remote yet entangled ecstasy

still the end was without you
since the end is inevitably alone
but when the candle dimmed
a fire began in the sky
as your song lit another star
